Privacy policy

ReconNest is operated by Werner Ventures LLC ("we", "us"), the business responsible for the personal information described here. This policy explains what we collect when you use reconnest.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as we need to run the product and to keep what we do collect safe. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we collect

Account details you give us: your name and email when you create an account. Addresses you search and the reports you generate, saved to your account so you can come back to them. Payment details when you buy a report, handled by our payment processor; we do not see or store full card numbers. Technical data your browser sends automatically, like your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you view. A small number of cookies, including a sign-in session cookie and a cookie that remembers how many free preview reports you have viewed.

How we use it

To build and show the reports you ask for, run your account, take payment, send you the emails that go with a purchase or a support request, prevent fraud and abuse, keep the service secure, and make the product better. We do not use your information to make decisions about your eligibility for anything, and reports are not consumer reports (see our Terms).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We do use Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking to understand how people find and use the site and to measure our advertising. Under California law, that use of analytics and advertising tags can count as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically.

Beyond that, we rely on service providers that process data on our behalf to run the product: Cloudflare (hosting and security), Supabase (our database), Stripe (payments), Google (address autocomplete, maps, distance and drive-time lookups, plus the analytics and ads measurement above), Anthropic (the AI that writes the report summary), and Resend (transactional email). Each receives only what it needs for its task. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights and our users.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. California residents have these rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because our analytics and advertising tags can count as sharing, you can opt out on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page or by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser, and we will not treat you differently for exercising any right.

Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws, including Oregon under the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and get a copy of their information, and to appeal if we deny a request. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of sharing.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the address on your account, or with enough detail for us to find your records, and tell us what you would like us to do. We will verify the request before we act on it.

Cookies

We use a few kinds of cookies. Strictly necessary ones keep you signed in, remember how many free preview reports you have viewed, and support checkout through Stripe; the site does not work properly without these. We also use Google Analytics (the _ga cookies) to understand how the site is used, and Google Ads conversion tracking (the _gcl cookies) to measure our advertising. You can opt out of the analytics and advertising cookies on our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or block and clear cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you block the necessary ones.

Keeping and protecting your data

We keep your account and report history while your account is active and for as long as we need it for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.

Children

ReconNest is for adults buying or researching property. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will update the date below and, for significant changes, do more to let you know. Questions about privacy go to [email protected].
